Impact of charging occupational musculoskeletal disorders to establishment accounts on the number of absence days due to these disorders

Control group: Establishments based in regions whose contribution rate to occupational musculoskeletal disorders (OMSD) costs did not change (Franche Comté, Brittany and Centre) Treatment group: Establishments based in the North Picardy region whose contribution rates to OMSD costs increased from 2007.

Source: Occupational risks insurance (statutory insurance scheme).

Field: Establishments belonging to firms with 10 workers or more.

Reading : All other things being equal, after charging OMSDs to establishment accounts in the North Picardy region (treatment group), the number of absence days due to these disorders decreases in average of 4.2 days by establishment between 2008 and 2011, compared to the control group.
