Reading: Rates of compulsory psychiatric care use vary by a factor of 6 between French departements. In Guadeloupe, Vaucluse, Paris, Deux-Sèvres, Jura, Pyrénées-Orientales and Ardennes, departements with the highest rates, more than 240 patients were subject to compulsory psychiatric treatment for 100,000 inhabitants aged 16 or more.
